Welcome to the School of Chemical Sciences (SCS), IIT Mandi. Our School is home to a vibrant group of 15 faculty members, more than 80 research scholars, around 60 Master’s students, around 40 BS students, and several dedicated staff members. We aim to achieve excellence in teaching and research through innovative academic programs and state-of-the-art research initiatives. Our faculty research interests span subfields of organic, inorganic, physical, materials, polymer, and biological chemistry; more details can be found on individual faculty web pages. Over the years, we have established an excellent research infrastructure for experimental and theoretical research in Chemical Sciences. The School encourages interdisciplinary research and our faculties have established active research collaborations within India and abroad. Currently, we offer 2-Year Master’s (M.Sc.), 4-Year Bachelor’s (BS) + 1-Year Masters (MS), and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry.
